An unbelievable hard worker and supporter of WTPC, Debbie was noted for starting one of the first weekend children’s shows to be aired on the station. Titled the "Winnie The Pooh Club" (note the initials of the show title...), Debbie would have guests on her show, such as Drama Professor Donald Mainwaring, reading from selected children’s stories.

One memorable Christmas show of Debbie’s, Rob Hummel was reading "The Night Before Christmas" live, on the air. Unfortunately, when Rob got to the part of describing Santa Claus, his tongue got twisted, and he said Santa "was all covered in ashes and soot," except he didn’t say "soot," but some other word that began and ended with the same consonants. He almost wasn’t able to finish the story…
