Sports broadcasts were a regular feature at WTPC. Broadcasting both Home and away games with intense and professional announcers. The cadre of Sports announcers included students Howard Bay, Peter Crabbe, Andy Kehe, Robb Moretti, and Phil Webster, among others.

The away games were remarkable in that the students worked with the phone company at establishing dedicated "Phone Loop" lines to the away locations that facilitated those remote broadcasts.

Since the school wouldn’t provide the funds to pay the phone bills for the remote broadcasts, it became a tradition at the station to hold 50 hour Marathons during Fall Quarter to raise money to pay for the away broadcasts. You can find an ad for one of these Marathons that ran in the campus newspaper in "Articles and Ads." You’ll also find an audio clip of the end of the Marathon that aired in 1972 elsewhere in the site.

		Februay 27th, 1973 Principia Indian Basketball Broadcast 14:20 This broadcast is hosted by Andy Kehe and Phil Webster. We didn't win this game, but it was real close, and the excitement that Andy and Phil convey is fabulous! March 10th, 1973 Principia vs. Greenville 13:34 "I'm sorry folks if I overdid it there a bit..." A remarkably energetic game by Andy and Phil! The excitement escalates when it looks like Principia will lose a close game due to a bad call. You'll hear them interview "Bird" Nietman, and call out plays by Phil Mozier, Terry Mcnabb, Derrick Dibble, Bill Dyck and others.
	As with all these air checks at wtpcfm.com, these Sports broadcasts serve as true time capsules of a moment in Principia’s past. We wish we had more, and as any more turn up, we’ll post them here.
