Barry Wightman

Barry Richards!

WTPC Lineup Promo 0:33 Barry created this promo for the entire station lineup; there's a mystery voice on this promo that we've yet to identify.

The Barry Wightman Show 1974 8:58 This is an air check of Barry's show that aired from 9:30 until 1:00am in the Fall of 1974.

The Early Evening Barry Wightman Show 5:37 This sampling, also the Fall of 1974, is from Barry's time slot of 6 to 9PM before he changed the format a bit.

The Barry Richards Show 20:30 Barry decided he wanted to try experimenting with a format leaning more towards Top 40. To distinguish these shows from his regular program, he adopted the on air name of Barry Richards. Fall of 1974.

Winter 1975 11:27 Another air check from Barry's evening show. As with all of Barry's air checks, you'll hear several pieces of production mentioning other WTPC staffers. This air check goes all the way to the station signing off for the night, with Barry reading all the FCC legalities.

"Smooth Sailing..." 0:16 This promo created by Barry was an interesting use of an ID that was part of the album "The Who Sell Out". Since Barry didn't keep up with our extortion demands, we had no choice but to feature this bit of production here.

The Last Barry Wightman Show 12:53 In the Spring of 1975, Barry broadcast for the last time on WTPC. This is from his 9:00 to 1:00am time slot. It sounds like it maight have been the last show before WTPC signed off the air for the summer.

Lou Palmer and Dave Wrightsman Show Promo Barry was a prolific producer of promos to be used by the station; this and what follows are a sampling.

Jim Thurman Promo 0:24 Barry created this promo for Jim Thurman's show that aired in the Fall of 1974. Is that Peter Crabbe saying "Farrr Out!" in there?

"...come fly with Rob." 0:27 For the first two and a half years or so at WTPC, Rob Hummel used to call his show "Retrospection" (thank you Debbie Farnsworth). Barry created this laid back promo for the show that aired in the Fall of '74.

Dave Pinkham Show Promo Produced by Barry Wightman.

Dr. Vibes!!! 0:26 This spooky promo was created by Barry for Kurt Holtz (Dr. Vibes was Kurt's on air moniker).
